I absolutely love your take on this project. I can see a clear understanding of both parts of this project as to what you have been asked to do. I love the effortless attention to detail you have captured in all of your “talking colour” drawings, in particular drawing 5. The media that you have used is effective in this drawing at creating a real atmosphere of your surroundings. I really enjoy the contrast of the vibrant pinks and blues with the browns and neutral tones. In your other drawings you have really encapsulated the details of each insect. To develop your drawings further you could use different medias together to create one image. This will help bring more texture and depth. I can see you have challenged yourself by drawing a wide range of objects and places which also show in your “talking patterns” section. Your patterns seem very well thought out and uniform showing a clear personal style. I can definitely see these patterns being used as real prints on materials! I love that your patterns seem as though they would be delicately embroidered on. With your patterns I feel that you didn’t use as much colour as you did in your initial drawings. To overcome this you could try to use your initial drawings first hand to create patterns by doing things like multiplying, manipulating and repeating the colourful drawings or a small section of a drawing and seeing what patterns you can make from it. I personally found it helpful to also not work on only white paper, this might be something you can try!
