I am really interested in the object you have chosen is the neon lights of London. Because of my nearsightedness, I often feel the scenes shown in your drawings when I’m on the busy streets of London. Chaotic lights, colorful streets. Everything is imaginative. I love that you paint with a variety of materials, oil pastels, watercolors, acrylics. And I see that you try to create a variety of textures. Some paintings appear to have been wiped with hands or other tools. This brings out the colorful neon lights in more detail. In the Talking Color section, the fourth drawing that attracts me the most is the random blur of watercolors. And you superimposed multiple colors. Pigments collide to create new colors. The edges of the color blocks are blurry, which is exactly what I see in neon scenes. I felt like I was in the streets of SOHO. In the Talking Pattern section, my favorite is the nineth drawing. I love that you try to explore different shapes to portray the neon glow. Especially the changing shapes and interlacing colors, I love this kind of experimental painting. In addition, I am more looking forward to your more attempts to blend 3D materials, which can enrich the drawing, It could make the drawing touchable. I look forward to seeing more pattern changes and more detailed depictions. I am glad to write the Feedback for you. In the process, your drawings have also inspired me a lot. You are very good at the use of color and brush strokes, which is worth learning.
For this project, I got a lot of inspiration from the nightlife of London. From my house, I can see lights and billboards of all colors. In particular, the colors of some neon lights are sparkling.I happen to have astigmatism, and when I look at distant lights, they become vague and abstract.I really wanted to express my vision of the neon world. So I chose to paint the night scene of London in my eyes with different materials. First I chose to use an oil painting stick to draw loose aperture. Then I used acrylic paint to paint my view of London at night, which was brilliant and vibrant. I also used markers and watercolors and drew some abstract lights. I think it is interesting to see the night scene of London from different perspectives. I used to pay too much attention to how to make the painting more concrete, but when I choose to start from the perspective of astigmatism, I find that the whole scene becomes different. However, in the process of painting, I found that I could not master how to combine abstraction and concreteness. When I want to be specific, there are always problems. For example, the shape is wrong, the lines are crooked and not smooth. So I didn’t draw any specific paintings throughout the project. In general, I think from this project, I have found inspiration from life, learned to see the world and paint from different perspectives, and tried different materials and colors to enrich my paintings.
